Wildcat Cove, one of Chincoteague Island's finest and most beautifully situated vacation rental homes, is at the north end of the island on Chincoteague Bay. It is 400 feet from the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge's Wildcat Marsh, a pristine place of spartina grass savannahs, long finger-like pine ridges and sloughs, magnificent sunsets and sunrises, and the quiet dignity of egrets fishing. Assateague Island National Seashore, with its miles of wild beach, is a leisurely 15 minutes away by car.

Wildcat
Cove is part of Wildcat on the Bay,
an impressive array of nearly a dozen bay-front homes that leave most of their surrounding natural setting undisturbed. This unusual vacation venue on the
Eastern Shore of Virginia is little more than a half-day's drive
for most families of the mid-Atlantic region, from New York and
Philadelphia south to Washington, Richmond, Norfolk, and Raleigh-Durham.
Since it was built in 1995, Wildcat Cove has been host to numerous family
reunions.

Separated
from the bay by 50 feet of low pine ridge and salt marsh, Wildcat
Cove gives one the sense from its high decks of being aboard a ship
at sea. The first deck, at the third-floor level, offers a private
hot-and-cold water outdoor shower from which by day you can enjoy
the beauty of the bay or, on a clear night, marvel
at the brilliance of the stars. The sky deck, at the fifth-floor level,
is the highest point in Chincoteague accessible to a vacationer. To
the northeast this deck looks out beneath the canopy of tall pines
to a wide salt marsh and Assateague Bay; to the northwest is a view
far up Chincoteague Bay. |
